For Christmas Jim surprised me with a very thoughtful gift. Ever since I photographed the beautiful interiors of artist’s studios in Antwerp, I had a hankering for a good wide-angle lens for my camera. In Belgium I was shooting with Jim’s 18-200mm, but I wanted to be able to get even wider shots. And so in my spare time I drooled over a 10-20mm lens, knowing that it was well out of my budget.
Here comes Christmas day, and a mysterious package appears from Jim. Lo and behold, inside is the exact lens that I’ve been absentmindedly oogling for MONTHS! I was stunned.
Ever since I’ve been running around taking beautiful wide-angle shots, hankering to go back to Antwerp and visit some more artists. For now, Natural Bridge Station will have to do. The other morning we had a beautiful sunrise over the mountains, with a thin layer of snow still coating everything. I caught a few moments from my front yard with my new lens and giggled with glee.
I sure do come from a beautiful place, huh?
